Volume 2: Amiga Demos (Video-DVD)

Four years in the making, this Video-DVD is a compilation of 30 of the best Amiga demos created in 15 years of demoscene evolution. The Amiga computer was launched in 1985 as an advanced personal and gaming computer. Many hobbyist computer programmers, graphic artists, and musicians took hold of this platform and created spectacular programs to show off their talent and the Amiga's capabilities. They created amazing works of art unseen and unknown to the world outside the small Amiga computer and demo scene. The computers existence only survived a decade, but these demonstrations will live on forever.

All demos were captured using several models of original Amiga hardware and then scene by scene stitched and optimized for best possible performance in framerate and audio/video quality on your TV. The DVD can be played back on any standard DVD-player and is available in two versions: PAL (for Europe & most other countries) and NTSC (for North America & Japan), see FAQ.

For watching the demos the DVD offers three different audio tracks to choose from:

  • original Amiga stereo sound (default)
  • remastered 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound (works great with stereo headphones as well)
  • special audio commentary for 1st hand background stories, spoken by the demo creators or the Mindcandy crew

The text of the audio commentary is also available as subtitles in english, french and german language, which is very helpful if english isn't your native language. Furthermore the DVD includes a 19-minutes featurette about the german Breakpoint demoparty with interviews of visitors and organizers, an impressive special about the technical background of the DVD production (effort and love to detail are incredible), animated DVD menus with music by demoscene musicians,  a random and a jukebox playback mode for your own demo party and a 12-page full color booklet.
